2022/6/25 14:53:11

Tiles are one of the main materials for home decoration. Tiles can be installed on walls and floors, which can play a good decorative effect. Before purchasing tiles, the quantity and wastage rate of tiles should be calculated to avoid waste or insufficient. So, what is the most appropriate wastage rate of tiles?

What Is A Reasonable Amount Of Tile Wastage?

In the process of installing tiles and floors, loss is inevitable. Because the size of the room does not necessarily match the size of the tiles, it is necessary to cut off the tiles. If the cut tiles can not continue to be used, it will cause losses. Generally speaking, the overall loss rate of ceramic tiles is between 5%-10%, which is normal. Beyond this range, the cost will increase greatly. The loss rate of tiles is not only the damage caused by improper use in the paving process, but also a certain loss in the early handling process. Therefore, attention should be paid to its loss rate.  The wastage of tile is mainly related to the following aspects:

1. The size of the house space is inconsistent with that of the tiles. If the house is 3.65m wide, install 600 × 600mm tiles are just right, but if the house is 4m wide, the remaining 20cm tiles will have to be cut off, causing waste. In addition, the larger the size of tile, the more the loss. If 800 × 800 mm, 1200 ×1200 mm tiles, the wastage cut tiles is even greater, which is far more than 10%.

2. It depends on the laying scheme. It depends on whether the tiles are laid directly or diamond shaped. Relatively speaking, diamond shaped laying will cost more bricks than straight laying.

3. It is related to the shape of the wall surface. The more regular the wall surface is, the less the loss of tiles is. The more corners of the wall surface are, the different sizes of windows and doors and the proportion of tiles are, the greater the wastage of tiles is.

4. It is related to the proficiency of workers. The higher the level of workers, the smaller the loss will be. On the contrary, the greater the wastage will be.

How To Reduce The Wastage Rate Of Tiles?

1. There are many kinds of tiles in the market. Different sizes of ceramic tiles will cause different loss rates of tiles. In order to minimize the loss rate of ceramic tiles, it is suggested that we should try to use ceramic tiles with more appropriate sizes for paving, and be careful in the paving process, so as to avoid unnecessary damage and loss.

2. Tiles are generally paved manually, and workers' technology, experience and other aspects are different. Therefore, the loss rate of tiles will be different. In order to control the loss rate of tiles as much as possible, it is recommended that we should invite professional construction personnel to help us with the construction. Whether the technology of construction personnel is mature and whether the laying is reasonable will also seriously affect the loss rate of tiles.

3. When laying tiles, there are usually many laying methods. Different laying methods will lead to different quantities of ceramic tiles required and different loss rates of ceramic tiles. Therefore, we must make reasonable design and arrangement according to the tile color, user needs, actual floor area and structure, so as to avoid unnecessary loss.
